Four gestures. One radiance.
A Sudanese inheritance, refined for the modern home.
Before weddings and gatherings, Sudanese women prepared the body as one prepares a guest of honour: slowly, with fragrant smoke, a polishing paste, and oils that stay on the skin like a blessing. Dauzana keeps that sequence. We have simply made it quieter, purer, and possible on an ordinary evening in Muscat, Dubai, or Kuwait — not only on the night before a celebration.
The philosophy
Our promise is not to mask the skin. It is to return it to itself — smoother, brighter, deeply comforted — then to dress it in a scent you have chosen.
Traditional Delka is often generously perfumed so the fragrance lingers for hours. Many women love that full, festive trail; it is a beautiful preference, and it remains part of the heritage. Our Delka is intentionally different. It is scented with rose and lemon so the polish stays clean. After rinsing, you may layer Rose Elixir for nourishment, then finish with Layali Sandaliya — or with your own perfume. The ritual belongs to you.
How the ritual unfolds
Four gestures, taken in order — or borrowed loosely, on the days that call for it.
Before you begin: bakhoor
Light a piece of Dauzana Sandalwood Bakhoor. Let the smoke rise while you prepare a towel, warm water, and your products. The house changes first; the skin follows. Sandalwood is our introductory bakhoor: Sudanese in craft, creamy and long-wearing, a welcome rather than a statement. It settles the room so the next three steps feel like time taken, not a task completed.
Delka: the polish
Delka is a centuries-old Sudanese body treatment — an exfoliation and polish historically reserved for brides and occasions, now refined for weekly or even more frequent use. Fine minerals and botanicals lift dullness; ginseng encourages a living glow; lemon oil brightens without shouting.
On clean, dry skin, massage Delka in slow circles for about three minutes. Leave it to dry for five to ten minutes. Then rub again until the paste begins to release in soft rolls. Rinse. Pat dry. The skin should feel like silk that has been ironed — not stripped.
The jar is generous for the body. The tube is precise for hands, elbows, and smaller surfaces. Use two or three times a week, or in the days before an occasion.

Rose Elixir: the seal
Because Delka is not heavily fragranced, the rose in the Elixir can be felt — tender, not competing.

"The full sequence — smoke, Delka, Elixir, Sandaliya — is a ceremony of about half an hour if you let it be. On hurried days, bakhoor in the next room and Elixir on damp skin is still Dauzana. Ritual is not measured by minutes. It is measured by attention."
